Frank Rockland is a pen name of a writer currently living in Ottawa, the nation's capital.
He got the idea for his first novel, Fire on the Hill, about the fire that destroyed the Parliament Buildings’ Centre Block, when he was a university student tour guide on Parliament Hill.
He retired from the Canadian civil service to write full time. When he isn’t spending his time in dusty archives and libraries researching, he is on the golf course losing golf balls in a futile quest to lower his handicap.
He always had an interest in history, particularly Canadian history, which he finds fascinating and full of interesting characters.
